Crimson Legal Group Reviews
In my opinion, two of the most unbiased, holistic review sites are BBB reviews and complaints and Google reviews. It may tend to be a bit more negative, but it seems to be a source of information.
So, what are the reviews?
BBB
On BBB, Crimson Legal Group currently has a 2/5 rating based on 11 reviews, and a A- rating. It looks like they have had 7 complaints in the last 3 years and are not BBB Accredited.
One of the reviews mentions that even after paying $299.70 for 28 months on a $10,200 debt. Crimson Legal Group wanted to extend the contract to 6 to 9 months. The review also mentioned that their paperwork was inconsistent and that the legal group would not answer questions directly when questioned about the accounts that had been settled.
On Google, Crimson Legal Group has a 2.9 rating based on 21 reviews.
One of the biggest things I took from the Google reviews is that the top 3 reviewers stated that the legal group seems like a scam and doesn’t actually help their customers. They also noted that the legal group took fees but didn’t work on the case so in turn their credit scores ended up taking a big hit without any action. One individual said that they act great when it comes to potentially hiring them but after you start making payments the legal group never does anything with the case.
So, What is Crimson Legal?
Crimson Legal Group appears to be a debt relief law firm that is pitching debt settlement. It’s possible that Crimson Legal is potentially part of a network of debt relief law firms based on similarities with other law firms.
When I look at these companies, I like to understand how old the website is and see any information I can about the company via Wayback Machine.
What I found interesting is that Crimson Legal Groups website has been around for 5 years, which is much longer than some other entities that are much newer.
What’s really interesting is that from the Crimson Legal Group home page, it states that this is a law firm. This website is an advertisement. It is not a lawyer referral service or prepaid legal services plan. Each of the lawyers on this site are either Managers, Members, Partners, Limited Partners or staff attorneys. There is information about filing bankruptcy and other options if bankruptcy is not for you. It states that they help people file bankruptcy under the bankruptcy code.
Your Options
If you would like to stay with Crimson Legal Group, you may want to read the Client Services Agreement in its entirety. If they are taking out fees before settlement, why are they doing that? What are they actually doing for you and what’s the percentage fee they charge?
If you’d like to cancel, you may be able to contact them directly, but you may also have to get assistance from your bank if they do not allow you to cancel the program easily.
